` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` Alison sighed as she entered her dorm room, plopping onto her bed and pulling out all of her books and such for her classes, leaving only the things that she needed for English in the blue messenger bag. Thankfully, school was over, which meant she was allowed to get out of the school uniform, specifically the skirt that the girl's were forced to wear. She changed quickly into a pair of jeans and a black tank top before pulling on a blue plaid shirt over top. It was all very simple and everything matched...though that hadn't been done on purpose. Slipping her feet into a pair of black heels, the blonde senior grabbed her bag and left her room, walking through the now almost empty halls of the private school.
Her heels clicked off of the stone walls, a sound which sounded rather eery despite the fact that sunlight filtered through the windows, illuminating the entire hallway. She walked with a purpose and knew exactly where she was going; to the rooftop. It was a nice place to sit when she was working on her English because it was always empty and quiet and it helped her mind relax on what she was doing. Running up the stairs, Alison grabbed a small garbage can that was sitting outside the door, using it to keep the rooftop door propped open since it was sometimes locked from the outside. She may have liked sitting up there, but she didn't want to be locked out.
The sunlight streamed down and Alison sat, letting her head fall back for a moment, her eyes closed as she let the warmth seep through her clothes and into her skin. A rare smile crossed her face and her blue eyes opened as she looked back down, pulling a book and a notebook from her bag, grabbing a pen and chewing on it as she opened the book where her bookmark was at. Most people wrote book reports after they were finished with the book, but Alison wrote one while she was reading. Her blonde hair hung around her face as she read, and she was thoroughly concentrating...until she heard the door squeak open slightly and she looked up, an eyebrow raised as she did so.

` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` Summer was over, and she was back in the United States! Belle could dance and sing around her brand new dorm room from how happy she was! Sure she would miss her half brothers Kyubok and Myung Dae, but they were both on her speed dial and agreed not to get angry over time differences. She was also getting away from her father and his bitch of a new wife; Jan Di (her step mother) didn’t like her too much. The only downside of going to St. Martin’s would have to be that she was once again thousands of miles away from her mother and sister. St. Martin’s was best for her future and even better for honing her violin talent. Something she never truly got at her old high school. Belle stripped out of her school uniform and slid on a pair of thrashed jeans, a black tank top and her black flip flops. Most of her wardrobe was either destroyed or black, something that Jan Di tried desperately to drain from Belle.
The Korean girl grabbed her violin and looked out her bedroom window; there were too many people around for any quality practice. Anytime she tried to play her baby when people were around, people would bother her for requests and questions – not something she wanted to deal with. So, there was only one logical solution, the roof. Belle grabbed her violin case and found her way up to the roof of the new school, surprisingly; she didn’t get too lost while making this bold attempt. By the top of the steps, she saw the door was propped open, either someone was up there or the roof was a popular ghost stomping ground. Considering her only fear in life was the reanimated dead (ghosts, zombies, things of that nature) she almost turned on her heels.
Belle opened the door slightly, only enough to allow her head to poke into the door and saw no floating bodies, but did notice a blonde girl. “Hello!” she looked around and didn’t see anyone else there. “Mind if I join you?” She edged in a little bit more, prepared to jump down her throat if the blonde girl said no. It was a free country! She could practice her violin anywhere if she really wanted to! Belle was a bit of a loud mouth, another trait that Jan Di tried to annoy out of her. “No wonder your father left your mother, look at how she raised you, Belle!” “I can only imagine what your sister is like.” “Kwang Ho, darling, did you ever make sure this was your daughter?” After a whole summer of biting her tongue to keep her father happy, she was ready to pounce on anyone.

` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` Alison watched the door open slowly, wondering if she was going to see a head pop out eventually or if it was being opened by some kind of spirit or something. As long as whoever or whatever it was didn't disturb her, the blonde senior didn't give a damn. Finally a head popped out, almost as slowly as the door had opened, and she saw the long dark hair that signaled (or so she assumed) a girl. “Hello! Mind if I join you?” A frown crossed over her face for a couple of seconds, wondering if she meant just joining her outside or if she was actually contemplating holding some kind of conversation. The latter, of course, wasn't exactly something that Alison was looking forward too.
Her eyes traveled to the violin in her hands and Alison felt her heart sink just a little more. Okay, so maybe the girl was really good, but what if she wasn't? It's your last year at the school, why don't you try to be nice to people? You know, make some new friends? The words were ones that her father had said while he was driving her to the airport so that she could go back to school. Realizing that she had been silent for the past couple minutes, the blonde cleared her throat and looked back up at the girl's face, giving a forced half smile as she shrugged. "Um...no, I don't mind," Alison said finally, part of her attempting to do what her father told her to try and the other part of her knowing that saying "no" probably wouldn't get her very far.
She looked back down at the book in her lap and then to the notebook, sticking the pen back into her mouth as she did so. It was her way of contemplating and since Alison wasn't really the type to chew gum, she chewed on her pens instead. None of her pens ever lasted through the first couple of months without getting their ends chewed. Looking back up somewhat, her eyes focused on the violin again and she removed the pen from her mouth, using it point. "So how long have you been playing?" ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` Belle was ready to use her violin to attack any zombies that wanted to om-nom on her brain. Belle could see the grimace on the girls face and knew instantly that she was probably a bitch and Belle was going to have fun with that. See, Belle Seo wasn't exactly a subtle person. When she wanted to annoy someone, or even befriend them (the two typically went hand in hand) she did everything within her power to make it happen. She walked onto the roof completely, making sure that the trash can was in place to keep the door propped open. If this girl turned out to be a super human bitch, Belle needed to be able to make a quick escape. She brushed her chestnut hair out of her eyes and looked the girl over properly. Blonde hair blue eyed, thin and extremely pretty. Yup, chances were she was a super bitch. This should be fun. She smiled at the girl, took off her jacket and placed her violin case on the ledge of the building. Her baby was inside and was not something that Belle ever wanted to loose. The violin was newer, but ancient all the same. Her father gave it to her as a gift before leaving Korea, it was hand made by his grandfather, her great grandfather, and was his pride and joy. She delicately took the instrument in her hands and smiled at the inscription along the neck that her father had put there. "You make me so proud Belle, I'm sorry for our past, hopefully you'll allow me to have a future." She picked up her bow and started to play something soft and beautiful by Bach, just to get her fingers warmed up. Fingerless gloves were perfect for these crisp autumn days and she hoped that either this blonde girl was annoyed with her playing, or was enjoying it. She watched the girl chew on the top of her pen and Belle thought that she was rather interesting. Why not just chew on gum? The girl has to go through pens like crazy, and Belle didn't even want to think about the chance that she bit through the pen and got ink all over her mouth, that couldn't possibly leave a good taste in her mouth. Belle closed her eyes and tried to just think about the music, she knew the strings and she knew the notes well enough she could do it in her sleep, she felt the same way about her bass. Her violin was special though, got her through all of the hard times in life. [/blockquote] Tagged:: Alison Cole Words:: 514 Notes:: *pants heavily* finally! It's crappy, but it's something!
